Rating Kandasamy is a reproduction of the worn out robin-hood story but with style and substance. Susi Ganesan’s much awaited Magnum Opus is not as great as it was expected to be so. We have seen heroes fighting for good, stealing black money from corrupt villains and giving them to the poor in movies such as ‘Gentleman’ and more recently, in ‘Sivaji’ but in Kandasamy, Susi Ganesan has given Vikram the role of a superhero- but he does try to give some logical reasoning to the ‘superhero thing’. The parts when Vikram becomes the caped crusader are well shot and the compliments go to N.K. Ekambaram for unique camera angles. Though the story is worn out, Susi Ganesan has tried to add some twists to the plot to rejuvenate it. However, he fails here as he simply drags the plot too much to nearly a whooping 200 minutes! The audience begin to lose patience and interest in the movie as the plot just simply drags on slowly and the momentum which it begins with slowly fades away. As a result of trying to drag the plot, many scenes look out of place and unrelated in the movie. The costumes are superb and the crew have done a good job in preparing the settings for the movie. Kandasamy has used the rope techniques to a great extent though some parts look very unrealistic. The idea to give the existence of a ‘superhero’ some logical reasoning is quite original. Vikram is a pillar to this movie as the versatile actor shows us his acting prowess in different costumes. The part when he comes as a woman is terrific and he even mimics the movements of a woman with ease. His clean, shaven look is quite cool although the eye lenses he wears sometimes do not seem so appropriate for his character. He has spent much time and energy on this project and has built a more toned body for this role. Shriya Saran has done a reasonable job in her portrayal of the spoilt rich brat. She portrays her role in a negative light and it is done well as the audiences begin to look at her role in a negative way at the beginning. However, her so called dance sequences do not look as good as they should have turned out to be and the director could have toned down the sexual connotations in the movie where Shriya literally rips her clothing apart. Prabhu is fast becoming predictable in his cop roles, but he delivers what is expected of him with professional ease. Susi Ganesan does his minor well too and who knows, he could act as the main character in later movies given his looks. Vadivelu’s comedies are bone-ticking but some parts have been overdone. The music by Devi Sri Prasad is quite apt but sometimes is out of place just like the movie itself does so in some parts. The director could have cut down on the numerous songs and Vadivelu’s comedy too. This movie is surely a commercial pot-boiler and though it may not achieve as much success as the people behind it may have expected, it will surely be supported by hardcore Vikram fans and members of the general public who just want sheer entertainment.

Rating utter waste!...really didn't expect this from Vikram...full 2years gone waste...he could have worked with some better directors like murugados, ameer and could have given 2 super hits...the songs were truely picturised in the much worst manner....shreya doesn't know the spelling of acting...only fit for stripping and shaking her booty!.....recomend to stop screening the movie

Rating  The storyline is something new and the movie is technically excellent . what ails the proceedings is the length . Size does matter - What can be told nicely in 120 minutes is stretched out to 360 minutes filled with expensive songs and dance sequences . Maybe the makers are not aware that agrarian lifestyle is changed and many people believe is time is money . ….Guru gopal,kochi

One of the worst movies by Vikram

Rating I don't know what the director was trying to do in this movie. It looks like the editor forgot to delete several scenes. Several scenes looked out of place; no script and one of the worst music in recent times. Vikram just wasted his 2 years for this junk...and seems like Shriya loves to strip when she sees the camera.

Rating Yesterday I saw the movie kandaswamy...its an avarge movie...i cant say its a good movie or a bad movie. becoz....4 sometime its good and its not steady...the move mood will go down...especially the scene between Sherya and Vikram(totally bad)..Another big negetive is song picturisation...i expected better than this..there is no speicallity in this movie...i am big fan of vikram...to be very frank its a below average movie.....
