    With Madhuri doing an item number in Dil 2 and Big B and Rekha planning to come together in Welcome Back, Bollywood's upcoming sequels look quite promising.

    Blame it to lack of originality or tag it as filmmakers' desperation to cash upon a prequel's success, sequels are the current flavour of Bollywood.

    As movie-makers set their sequel plans, here's a dekko at some of the most promising sequels to watch out for...

    Dhoom 3 :

    One of the most successful film franchises in Bollywood, Dhoom is all set to release its third part. Dhoom 3.

    One of the most awaited films of the year, Dhoom 3 has Aamir Khan playing the baddie for the very first time.

    Another new entrant in third part is Katrina Kaif, while Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra continue to play Jai Dixit and Ali.

    The film is all set to release on December 20, 2013 but the teaser of the film is already a big hit among the fans.

    Krrish 3 :

    It all began with Koi Mil...Gaya, which was lapped up by audiences for its 'Jadoo' alien effect.

    Director Rakesh Roshan saw the potential in this Hrithik Roshan starrer and announced Krrish and now, Krrish 3.

    The film will introduce Hrithik as a superhero and take forward the story of Rohit Mehra and his son Krrish.

    Also starring Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut as a mutant and Vivek Oberoi in a negative role,
    Krrish 3 is all set to woo you in 3D on November 4 , 2013.

    Dil 2 :

    After the fleeting success of Aashique 2, Dil starring Madhuri Dixit and Aamir Khan is the yet another romantic flick that's ready to go the sequel way.

    And guess what? Madhuri Dixit is going to be a part of Dil 2 as well.

    But, she'll be seen only in an item number. However, there's no word on the star cast and plot of the film.

    Satya 2 :

    Ram Gopal Varma has not only started shooting for the sequel of his 1998 gangster flick but also revealed the first look of Satya 2, which reads "Dawood Ibrahim has retired, Chota Rajan has become inactive, Abu Salem is in jail."

    Talking about Satya 2, Ram Gopal Varma tweeted, "Satya 2 is about a man who will reinvent the underworld.

    It is about a man whose thinking starts where all the earlier real life dons like Dawood Ibrahims and Chota Rajans thinking ended."

    While the original starred JD Chakravarthy, Urmila Matondkar and Manoj Bajpayee in the lead, Satya 2 will star Puneet, Mahesh Thakur and, Anaika Soti.

    Ragini MMS2 :

    If Ragini MMS scared you, Ragini MMS 2 will freak you out.

    If you found the first part soaring high on sensuality quotient, the second part is going to be all the more steamy.

    After all, it stars none other than the porn star turned Bollywood babe, Sunny Leone in the lead.

    The shooting of the sequel is already in progress and Sunny will be playing a Bollywood actress in this horror- thriller
    Directed by Bhushan Patel and produced by Ekta Kapoor, the story of Ragini MMS2 will start where the prequel ended.

    What more? To make it all the more exciting, makers are planning to release it in 3D!

    Dostana 2 :

    If all goes well, Dostana 2 starring the good old happy and gay couple of Dostana, Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham will go on floors this October.

    A little birdie has told us that the sequel will be set in Punjab instead of Miami and the lead pair will be portrayed as the incarnation of eternal lovers, Heer-Ranjha.

    However, the the leading lady of the film is yet to be finalized.

    News is rife that either Deepika or Katrina will replace Priyanka Chopra in Dostana 2.

    Welcome Back! :

    When the makers clam to bring back none other than Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha together in a film, it automatically becomes a must-watch.

    We are talking about Welcome Back, the sequel of comedy caper Welcome, starring Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Katrina Kaif.

    Paresh Rawal and Feroze Khan, which was one of the season's best.

    Director Anees Bazmee has replaced the lead pair of Welcome with John Abraham and Shruti Hassan, retaining the rest of the cast with Big B supposedly playing Feroze Khan's role.

    Do you think the sequel will be as hilarious as Welcome?

    Bach Gaye Re Obama :

    It the re-election of Barack Obama as the US president, that made director Ashok Pandey announced the sequel of 2010's satire Phans Gaye Re Obama.

    Hoping to get a solution to recession, the film will take the story forward from where the prequel ended. The film is scheduled to release in 2014.

    Andaz Apna Apna :

    If you loved the 90s cult classic starring Aamir Khan and Salman Khan as Amar-Prem, here's a good news for you! Soon, you can get on to the joy ride yet again as director Rajkumar Santoshi is already thinking over for the sequel.

    As roping in the two Khans is a challenge for the director, he's thinking over to rope in Ranbir Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor in the sequel.
