After announcing his collaboration with Akshay Kumar - 'Kesari', a film based on the Battle of Saragarhi yesterday, filmmaker Karan Johar made another big announcement today, making Amitabh Bachchan's 75th birthday all the more special.

Karan Johar announced yet another exciting project with Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead. The film, which was earlier rumoured to be titled as 'Dragon', will be a fantasy adventure trilogy, titled 'Brahmastra', which will hit the screens on August 15, 2019. The film is being helmed by Ayan Mukerji and will hit the screens next year.

KJo took to twitter to make the grand announcement, he wrote, "A TRILOGY ...A FANTASY ADVENTURE....A LABOUR OF LOVE....."BRAHMĀSTRA" (sic)

Speaking about the film, director Ayan Mukerji recently said in an interview, "There is lot of action in the film, so there is lot of training, like gymnastics kind of training, horse-riding, fighting and lot of physical stuff that Ranbir will have to do. In its (Brahmastra) core it has romance as an element but it has got a new flavour to it. With every film I am trying to evolve and grow."

The fantasy adventure film is a trilogy and its first part will hit the screens on August 15, 2019. For 'Brahmastra', Karan Johar's Dharma Productions will collaborate with Fox Star Studios and Namit Malhotra, CEO of Prime Focus.
