When will the Bengali film industry understand that thrillers make for a specialised genre and the twists and turns that adds up to such plots always presents for a witty storyline. Director AniketChattopadhyay's recent attempt Room No. 103is one such faulty attempt that is only impressive at portions.

RudraChatterjee (SoumitraChatterjee) is the harbinger of all thrills and chills of Room No. 103. He is the hotel manager in whose hotel these mysterious episodes happen. As is highly predictable this room in question is that creepy room, where whoever stays manages to experience some alterations in their lives. But as a word of caution, let's mention that these changes are not always for bad.

Weighing on this central backbone, Room No. 103unfolds a series of stories that follow that same pattern of mystery and the moment the people are handed over the keys to the room you know for sure that something is about to happen. But the aftertaste is not so dramatic and you are already able to guess what waits these protagonists as they step out of the hotel.

The presence of a good league of actors has not been the saving grace for Room No. 103. The otherwise exceptional talents have been underutilized in the film and fortunately their presence has won the film some saving points at least.

Parts of disappointment and parts of successful mysterious moments make Room No. 103a decent attempt. But you will not be able to appreciate much. Watch it just to know, there is so much that is unappreciable. The .2 extra solely goes out to JisshuSengupta&Priyanka for their brilliant act together.
