Nirmala Convent Review

|
Due to the glaring directional errors, the first half is tad too slow and the second half is just Okay. The movie will be a disappointing debut for Roshan and the only positive will be the good marks for Roshan's performance. If not for Nagarjuna's cameo, things would have been even worse.
1.5 out of 5 (Poor, A Few Good Parts)  | NR (NOWRUNNING)
Shanti (Shriya Sharma), a naughty girl and an intelligent boy Samuel (Roshan Meka) are students of Nirmala Convent and they fall in love after some initial challenges as we usually see. But then situations force separation as Shanti's rich father Bhupati Raju (Aditya Menon) target Samuel's poor dad David and snatch away his one acre land. Samuel takes up the challenge to get rich and win Shanti's hand. What happens next forms the rest of the story.

Let's begin things with Nagarjuna who is seen in a cameo role in the film. His role comes in the second half and leaves us with a feeling that the role of a celebrity is half-baked and do not have the scope for performance. Roshan and Shriya Sharma made impressive debut with this film. Both of them suited their roles well and can be considered as a good outing for them. The other actors are impressive as well.

Naga Koteswara Rao, the director of the film disappointed big time. He came up with a very routine story and a script which lacks good narration. Further, the dialogues are boring. All these things have gone terribly wrong for the teenage love story. Even though not fully used, Nagarjuna is the sole selling point of the film. Roshan Saluri came up with impressive music and background score. Nagarjuna crooned a song 'Kotha Kotha Basha' is a treat. Visweshwar's camera work is neat and likable while the production values are adequate.

Finally, due to the glaring directional errors, the first half is tad too slow and the second half is just Okay. The movie will be a disappointing debut for Roshan and the only positive will be the good marks for Roshan's performance. If not for Nagarjuna's cameo, things would have been even worse.
