Major Ravi's fourth film 'Kandahar' is one of the most expected films of the year. This would also be Mohanlal's final release of 2010 that would arrive as a Christmas gift for his fans.
In Kandahar, Mohanlal plays Major Mahadevan again, the army man whom he had earlier played in films like 'Keerthi Chakra' and 'Kurukshetra'.
This time around, Ravi takes us on another mission with Mahadevan and crew, as they deal with international terrorism with a flight being hijacked by hardcore terrorists.
In doing so, Ravi brings together two legends of Indian cinema together - Mohanlal and Amitabh Bachan - of whom the latter would be acting in a Malayalam film for the first time.
Besides Mohanlal and Amitabh Bachan, the film also has Ganesh Venkitaraman, Ragini Dwivedi, Anoop Chandran, N. L. Balakrishnan, Pradeep Chandran, Saaju Attingal, Kannan Pattambi, Major Kishore, Captain Anil, Haneef Kumaranellur and Jaffer Idukki in key roles.
Reportedly being shot at a budget of eight crores, Kandahar is one of the costliest productions of the year as well.
