- Engineering graduate Soumya, who has been an assistant director, turns heroine for Jayasurya for the upcoming project 'David and Goliath'. Directed by Rajeev Nath, 'David and Goliath' is based on a biblical story with Jayasurya and Anoop Menon as David and Goliath respectively.
In order to pursue her passion, she has given up the lucrative career of an IT professional and entered the tinsel world with the dream of becoming a director. Soumya who has been an assistant director in 'Edavapathy', 'Cinema Company', 'Jawan of Vellimala', will now don the roles both in front and behind the camera - as assisting Rajeev Nath and the heroine in the film.
About her character Sharon she says, "Sharon, my character, is the youngest of the four girls in her family and she has known David for years now."
According to Anoop Menon who writes the script for this movie this is a modern day interpretation of the biblical story where the powerless have an advantage over the powerful, a paradigm shift from the usual tales.
'David and Goliath' is produced by Sudeep Karat and Arun Nair under the banner of Chaya Films and the music is composed by Ratheesh Vegha. Jithu Damodar is the Director of Photography.
