Calcutta News in, Romeo out !

- The Blessy-directed Calcutta News, with Dileep, Meera Jasmine and Indrajith in key roles and shot mostly in Kolkata, is now finished with the shoot, with the second leg of the shoot at Kochi and the third leg at Hyderabad having ended very successfully. Produced by Antony Thekkek under the banner of Kayal Films, Calcutta News reportedly is going to be very different from Blessy's earlier films, namely Kaazhcha, Thanmathra and Palunku, especially regarding the total tempo of the film, the treatment, the subject, the backdrop etc. Everyone related to the project is confident that the film will be a sure-hit.
In the mean time the rumour mill says that the film is being geared up for a Christmas release. (Remember that Calcutta News, which went on getting delayed for umpteen reasons, was expected to be released earlier during Onam this year). If the film does hit the screens this Christmas, it is very likely that the Rajasenan-directed Dileep-starrer Romeo scripted and produced by the Rafi-Mecartin duo, which was planned as this year's Dileep film for Christmas, will get released only later. Since both are films that show promise for the acting career of Dileep, which presently is on a downswing, let's wait and see how things work out.
