'Chantham' is Malayalam chartbuster

- Kochi, July 26 (IANS) "Chantham", a song from the film "Chess", makes it to the top of the list of Malayalam charbusters. Otherwise, it is "Vadakkumnathan" all the way.
The top five Malayalam songs are:
1. "Chantham" - Film: "Chess"; Music: Berni-Ignatius; Lyrics: Sarath Vayalar; Singers: K.J. Yesudas and K.S. Chitra. The Berni-Ignatius duo makes a good comeback with this song in their silver jubilee year in the industry.
2. "Kalabham Tharam" - Film: "Vadakkumnathan"; Music: Raveendran; Lyrics:
Gireesh Puthencherry; Singers: K.S. Chitra and Biju Narayanan. This song has still a prominent place on the list.
3. "Aattinkarayorathe" - Film: "Rasathantram"; Music: Ilayaraja; Lyrics:
Gireesh Puthencherry; Singer: Manjari. The film has completed 100 days and the song helps in sustaining its popularity.
4. "Gange" - Film: "Vadakkumnathan"; Music: Raveendran; Lyrics: Gireesh Puthencherry; Singer: K.J. Yesudas. Yesudas and the late Raveendran shared a very strong musical bond. This is one of the last glimpses of it.
