• Kochi, May 2 (IANS) This list has hardly changed over the past fortnight, except for the song "Muthumazha" from "Big B" entering the list.
  
  The top five Malayalam songs are:
  
  1. "Thala" - Film: "Chotta Mumbai"; Music: Rahul Raj; Lyrics: Sarath Varma; Singers: Shankar Mahadevan, Arjun Sasi, Sangeeth and Rahul Raj. The energetic song by an ensemble, led by Shankar Mahadevan, still tops the charts.
  
  2. "Muthumazha" - Film: "Big B". Music: Alphonse; Lyrics: Jophy Tharakan Singers: Vineeth Sreenivasan and Jyotsna. Vineeth Sreenivasan and Jyotsna shine in the song.
  
  3. "Kaiyetha" - Film: "Vinodayathra"; Music: Ilayaraja; Lyrics: Sarath Varma; Singer: Manjari. Manjari's voice seems to gel well with Meera Jasmine in Sathyan Anthikad's "Vinodayathra". Last year it was "Attinkara orathe chattal mazha" from the movie "Rasathantram".
  
  4. "Sankatathinu" - Film: "Panthayakozhi": Music: Alex Paul; Lyrics: Sarath Varma; Singers: Vineeth Sreenivasan and Ramesh Babu. Music is the sole redeeming feature of this film. The Alex Paul-Sarath Varma team, which had virtually dominated the charts for the last few months, makes it to the top five only with this song.
  
  5. "Mandarapoo" - Film: "Vinodayathra". Music: Ilayaraja; Lyrics: Sarath Varma; Singers: Swetha and Madhu Balakrishanan. The film's popularity is helping its album as well.
