Cochin, Mar.8 (NR): The Malayalam film industry might well witness a welcome change in the next five years, thanks to a group of four men with one thing in common - their love for good cinema.
Dr. Jose Leslie, C P Babu, Anoop Antony and Dr. Ashok Menon have always been fascinated by the medium called cinema. Over the years, their fondness for fine cinema has prompted them to form their own production house, the Five Men Corporate as they call it; in which the fifth man would the director of their film.
The first production of Five Men Corporate has already been launched. Their first film titled 'Home Science' would be directed by debutante director Dilip Menon and would start its shoot on the 17th of March. 'Home Science' would have Suresh Gopi, Priyanka, Niveditha and Pavitra Lokesh in its cast.
Five Men Corporate intends to produce ten meaningful films in the next three years. Speaking to a prominent Malayalam daily, Dr. Ashok Menon said that the transformation that was so evident in Tamil and Hindi films was due to the fact that there were people out there willing to offer fresh and promising talent a chance. It is often believed that the business prospects of a film in a small state like Kerala are pretty low, and hence filmmakers often tend to compromise.
There would be no such compromises on the part of Five Men Corporate, since it believes that the story and the director are what matter most. Irrespective of the box office performance of the films, Five Men Corporate hopes to present ten distinctly different films before the Malayali audience, Ashok said.
