Kerala hums songs from Vishu films

- Kochi, April 19 (IANS) Songs from films released during Vishu make it to this list, with "Thala" from "Chotta Mumbai" topping the charts.
The top five Malyalam songs are:
1. "Thala" - Film: "Chotta Mumbai"; Music Director: Rahul Raj; Lyrics: Sarath Varma; Singers: Sankar Mahadevan, Arjun Sasi, Sangeeth and Rahul Raj. This is a song full of zest from a fun-filled film.
2. "Kaiyetha" - Film: "Vinodayathra"; Music Director: Ilayaraja; Lyrics: Sarath Varma; Singer: Manjari. We get soulful music whenever director Sathyan Anthikkad and maestro Ilayaraja team up, and this song continues the trend.
3. "Sankathinu" - Film: "Panthayakozhi"; Music Director: Alex Paul; Lyrics: Sarath Varma; Singers: Vineeth Sreenivasan and Ramesh Babu. This is a philosophical, but 'danceable' song.
4. "Mandarapoo mooli" - Film: "Vinodayathra"; Music Director: Ilaiyaraja: Lyrics: Sarath Varma; Singers: Swetha and Madhu Balakrishanan. This well-picturised romantic song on Dileep and Meera Jasmine was bound to be a hit with listeners and it is.
5. "Muttathe mulle" - Film: "Maayavi"; Music Director: Alex Paul; Lyrics: Sarath Varma; Singers: K.J. Yesudas and Manjari. This song still remains on the charts, but not on the top any more.
