• Kochi, Feb 19 (IANS) Even as Malayalam film "Lion" tops this fortnight's list, "Tanmatra" - the toast of the Kerala state film awards announced this year - remains firmly in the spotlight.
  
  1. "Lion": Actor Dileep manages to strike a balance between commercial success and critical appreciation. After his effeminate turn in "Chaandupottu" - for which he got a special mention from the awards jury - he dons a macho mantle in this political thriller.
  
  2. "Tanmatra": Bagging five state awards this year, the film got actor Mohanlal the best actor award and Blessy the best director and writer awards.
  
  3. "Achanurangatha Veedu": Adjudged the second best film, this takes Salim Kumar from a sidekick comedian to second best actor.
  
  4. "Rajamanikiyam": One of the biggest hits of superstar Mammootty's career, the film has started its downward journey on this list.
  
  5. "Ennittum": A youth-oriented film starring Siddharath and Dinu Dennis was lying in the cans for the last couple of years but has at last made it to the big screen.
