Mammootty saved me: Shaji Kailas

- Cochin, Nov.9 (NR): Director Shaji Kailas is all praise for Megastar Mammootty. Shaji says that Mammootty saved him after the debacle of his last film 'Drona'.
'Never does a hero call a director after the failure of a film; but Mammootty did just that. He rang me up after 'Drona' flopped and asked me what I was upto. When I replied that I was sitting idle after my film flopped at the box office, he asked me not to be dejected and to come and meet him. He had actually planned 'August 15' before he rang me up,' Shaji says.
'Mammukka said that setbacks in cinema are common and so are comebacks. He quoted his life as an example and reminded me that he had made a comeback after delivering several flops, one after the other.'
'I am indebted to him for being the director of 'August 15'. When someone like Mammukka calls during a tough phase in our lives, it boosts our confidence like anything,' Shaji added.
