• New York, Feb 5 (IANS) "American Idol" star Sanjaya Malakar and his sister allegedly demanded money from a photographer who took pictures of them, the entertainment website tmz.com reported.
  
  The Indian American singer, who was a surprise finalist last year that made him an overnight star before being voted out of the contest, and his sister Shyamali were spending the weekend at the Hanes Style Villa in Arizona. They went shopping for thousands of dollars worth of jewellery and spa treatments, the website said.
  
  According to the website, Sanjaya then asked a photographer to give him $20 for taking his picture. His sister Shyamali reportedly joined her brother and told the photographer: "We're not taking a picture unless we know what we're getting."
