- The latest news to fall on our ears is that Jiiva, Ram and Aditya Roy Kapur will be essaying the same role in Gautham's trilingual venture 'Neethane En Ponvasantham' (NEP).
When director Gautham Vasudev Menon announced 'Neethane En Ponvasantham' (NEP) starring Jiiva and Samantha as his next project, there was a buzz that he was making the film in Telugu as well. Then we heard the director is also simultaneously shooting the Hindi version of the film.
When we contacted Gautham, he said, "Yes, the film is a trilingual. I'm making it in Hindi with Aditya Roy Kapur and he's playing the male lead,". In Telugu, Ram will be playing the lead. The film maker has been shooting with all his three heroes in the past week. According to him, all three are good actors and have no ego about shooting together. Interestingly, Samantha plays the female lead in all three versions of the film. The director is said to have been floored by the actress's acting ability and decided to cast her in all three versions. In fact, she also acted in two of his previous films as well.
The film is touted to be a romantic, feel-good entertainer, a genre that the director is quite familiar with. The music of his romantic films have always stood out. While he has joined hands with Harris Jayaraj earlier, his fall-out with him led him to partner with A R Rahman.
However, he's not willing to disclose if ARR is the composer of NEP. "Even for my other film with Vijay, 'Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru', we did not initially reveal it was ARR. So, let it be a surprise," quipped the film maker.
