Dookudu breaks box-office Jinx

- The industry has very high expectations from Dookudu at the box office. Though the film has received average reviews by critics, the response and collections have been very promising. Industry insiders feel this will break the jinx of original Telugu films not working at the box office.
Mahesh Babu and his wife Namrata Shirodkar watched the movie with his fans at a single screen theatre in the city while special shows were arranged for the industry bigwigs. Meanwhile, films of superstars NTR Jr, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh and Ravi Teja are due to be released during the festival season, and Dookudu has given them hope that original Telugu films can succeed.
The recent past has seen dubbed films and remakes doing better than Telugu films. Thus producers were shying away from original scripts and taking up films already made in other languages, but Dookudu could turn the tide, industry analysts say. Mahesh Babu's super hit Pokiri was remade in Hindi as Wanted with Salman Khan in the lead role and was a huge success.
