'Aaranya Kaandam' team is buoyed up by the national recognition it got recently. It won two honours at the National Awards. Thiagarajan Kumararaja who made his directorial debut with this film bagged the Best First Film of a Director award. Praveen K.L. and Srikanth received the award for the best editing.
The two national honours set producer S.P. Charan thinking on how best to make the movie a biggie. He envisages releasing the film for a wider section of the audience in the United States. Confirming this Charan said,"We are releasing the film in the US in big screens again by the next week. Plans are on for the same"
Charan is also examining the option of releasing the film again in Tamil Nadu.
'Aaranya Kaandam', starring Ravi Krishna, Jackie Shroff, Sampath and Yasmin, also won the Grand Jury Award in South Asian International Film Festival held in New York last year.
The film, set in the backdrop of North Chennai, deals with drug trafficking.
