Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam which was to release on Jan 25 was banned by Tamil Nadu government for 15 days yesterday. Kamal today moved the High Court asking for relief and after hearing the arguments of both the sides, the HC has stayed the film's release till Jan 28. In the meantime, the judges will see the film on Jan 26 and decide on the future course of action.
The film was banned by TN govt, citing law and order issues. Some of the Muslim outfits have been making a huge cry over the release of the film citing that the film has taken in such way to hurt Muslim sentiments and hence will create communal problems.
The film has been banned for 15 days in Puducherry too.
