S S Rajamouli's Maryada Ramanna is being remade into Tamil. The film was supposed to be directed by Kannan with Santhanam in the lead. However, there's a change in the director now. Actor-director Srinath will be directing the film. Kannan has confirmed that he had opted out of the project. Srinath, who debuted as a director with Muthirai has confirmed his director's role and stated that the film has started its pre-production work. The film is expected to go on the floors by mid of March. PVP Cinemas is the original right holders in Telugu and they will be doing the film on first copy basis with Santhanam who is also the hero in the film. Maryada Ramanna had Sunil in the lead and it was remade in Hindi as Son of Sardar. The film netted more than 100 crores.
