GV Prakash wins MTV Award
GV Prakash Kumar

  • GV Prakash Kumar has won the MTV VMA (MTV Video and Music Awards) for the best regional music video for Uyirin Uyire. UTV Motion Pictures has produced the film Thaandavam and the song is from the film. The song's lyrics were penned by Na Muthukumar. Singers Vandhana and Sathya Prakash have sung the song.

Speaking about the video song, which was shot in the freezing weather of Dover in England using a helicopter, GV said that it is the most expensive shot in the film, featuring the work of sand art experts, brought in from Germany. The film features Vikram and Anushka in the lead roles. While the music has been composed by GV Prakash, the cinematography was handled by Nirav Shah and editing by Anthony. GV expressed his gratitude to everyone who were part of it over a social networking site. He also added that so far in his career, the whole album of the movie will always remain close to heart.

MTV VMA (MTV Video and Music Awards) was instituted in 1984 in the USA, to acknowledge choice music and videos. It is fondly referred to as 'Oscars for Youth', owing to the mass of audience that the show has garnered.
