- Even as the controversy over the Madras Cafe is brewing, we hear that an authentic and complete picture of Sri Lankan war will be presented by director Gowthaman. The director is popular for his films like Sandhana Kaadu and Magizhchi. He is planning to make a biopic on the life and times of Velupillai Prabhakaran, the LTTE leader.
"I have decided to helm the biopic of LTTE Prabhakaran and I'm very particular about doing this. The film will be based on the documentation made by noted Tamil writer Nedumaran," he said. His close association with Prabhakaran has inspired him to direct this film which will be based on the novel, 'Prabaharan Thamizhar Ezhuchiyin Vadivam', written by Nedumaran. Through this film the director wants to convey the truth about the war to the people.
He voices out that a few movies have mislead the people and through this movie, he will portray the history of Prabhakaran and LTTE. Talking about the director's initiative, writer Nedumaran said, "Gowthaman is very much qualified to handle a subject as sensitive as the lives of LTTE Prabhakaran and his people. My best wishes to the director on his effort."
