Tanikellani Bharani, who received many awards and critical acclaim for his directorial debut 'Mithunam' is all set to direct his second movie.
The new movie is based on the story of 'Bhaktha Kannappa', a great devotee of Lord Shiva. Sources say that Bharani himself is doing the research for the film and is penning some lyrics too. As known Bharani is a great devotee of Lord Shiva, and is known for his poems on the Lord.
Sources say that Sunil has been approached to play the part of Kannappa and Sunil too had accepted the role which is being made as a tri-lingual in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. The movie is expected to start shooting in April, once Sunil completes his other commitments as this flick requires him to have a different look.
This is not the first time that a film is being made on the great devotee. In 1976, Bapu-Mullapudi Ramana made Baktha Kannapa with Krishnam Raju which went on to become a blockbuster. Even in Kannada, Super Star Rajkumar has done the same role, which too went on to become a block buster.
We've to see how different Bharani's Kannappa will be compared to these block busters.
