Bollywood actress and director Nandita Das has joined the cast of 'Neer Paravai' directed by Seenu Ramasamy. She will play a crucial role. He says it will be strikingly different from what the actress has done so far.
Seenu's last film 'Thenmerku Paruvakkatru' had Saranya Ponvannan in a crucial role and she won the national award for best supporting actress. Seenu has cast Nandita Das in 'Neer Paravai' as it has a character for which she will be apt.
She will be shooting with the unit for ten days in May.
This is Nandita's fourth Tamil film after Thankar Bachan's 'Azhagi', Mani Ratnam's 'Kannathil Muthamittal' and 'Vishwa Thulasi'.
Seenu himself has written the story and screenplay for 'Neer Paravai'.
'Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu' hero Vishnu plays the lead character. Pairing up with him is Sunaina who replaced Bindhu Madhavi in a shuffle.
Others in the cast include Thambi Ramaiyah, 'Poo' Ram, Black Pondi, Arul Das, Rohini.
Balasubramaniam is the cinematographer while N.R. Raghunandan is the composer. Vairamuthu has written the lyrics for all the songs. The dialogues are by Jaya Mohan. Udhayanidhi Stalin produces the film on behalf of Red Giant Movies.
The film was to have been launched in February. Vimal had fractured his arm in the CCL cricket match finals in Chennai and is getting well. The unit has left for Tiruchendur for shooting coastal scenes featuring Vimal romancing Sunaina.
