  After a 11-year hiatus, Nagaraj is directing a film titled 'Mathapu' (Sparkler) which was launched in Chennai last week.
  
  He has cast Jayan, Uday and Gayathri in important roles. C.R Maravarman is the cinematographer. K. Velayudham is the music director. Na. Muthukumar, Francis Kripa, and T. Arivazhagan have written the songs.
  
  Directors Sasi and Pandiraj switched on the camera signaling the start of the shooting.
  
  Speaking at the function, Nagaraj outlined the story. The hero wishes that he and all those surrounding him should be happy. But contrastingly the heroine and her family are steeped in sorrow. The hero endeavors to make the heroine overcome her sorrow and feel happy. What one should do to make one's life happy all the time like 'sparkler' is the message.
  
  Nagaraj said the film would be ready for release on Aug. 15.
