Ensemble of comedians in 'Aasamy'
PGV  [ Tue, Jan 31, 2012 ]
  • 'Aasamy', directed by Andal Ramesh and produced jointly by Ezhumalaiyan Movies and Lalitha Pictures, has an entertaining storyline with comedy being its soul.

Comedy artistes Paandu, Anu Mohan, Nellai Siva and Thiyagu are featured in the film.

A socially relevant film, it is about a fake swami who cheats people in the name of God exploiting their superstitious beliefs.

Producer K. Senthamaraikannan says the movie has a powerful message that God Himself will punish such charlatans.

Director Andal Ramesh feels the film is sure to make an impact on those masquerading as god men. He says he will be happy if at least one of them changes for good after seeing this movie.

Besides comedy, another feature is the film's songs. The audio was released on Jan.29.

Jayakumar has scored the music. He made his debut as a composer in 'Murai Mappillai' directed by Sundar C in 1995. Two songs are devotionals. Prasanna sings 'Ulagaalum Omkari' in Shanmugapriya. Nityashri Mahadevan renders 'Devigalil' in Sindubhairavi. Mohan Raj has written the songs.

    D. Vasudevan has handled the camera. Raj Keerthy is the editor.
