Post Padmavati, Deepika Padukone will begin work on Sapna Didi with Irrfan
Abhishree Kulkarni  [ Thu, Aug 10, 2017 ]
While there have been talks about Deepika Padukone beginning work on the fourth instalment of xXx franchise soon after wrapping the shoot for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus - 'Padmavati', it is now been revealed that Deepika will first start shooting for Vishal Bhardwaj's biopic on Sapna Didi aka Rahima Khan.

Based on one of the chapters from former investigative journalist-turned-author S Hussain Zaidi's book 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai', Bhardwaj's 'Sapna Didi' will explore the story of the beautiful Rahima Khan, an inherently simple girl who turned a heartless gangster with the sole purpose to avenge the murder of her husband.

The film also features, Deepika's 'Piku' co-star Irrfan, who plays the man who trained her in her mission to avenge her husband's death. The man whom Irrfan portrays in the film was a womaniser and lusted for Sapna Didi but he also displayed a lot of character when he helped her. It is an extremely interesting character.

Confirming the news to a web portal, producer Prernaa Arora said, "Vishal (Bhardwaj) ji is concentrating on the music of Sapna Didi biopic right now. He is making very different sort of music. Aaj se pehle jo hua nahi hoga. 'Sapna Didi' is a thriller. Deepika is busy with Padmavati and once she is done with that, she will get involved in this film wholeheartedly. Now we are at the music stage but yes everything is getting ready. I think by January 15, we will start shooting."

Well, we can't wait to see Deepika Padukone bringing this interesting character to life onscreen.
