• Popular Carnatic and playback singer Nithyasree's husband Mahadevan allegedly committed suicide today by jumping into the Adyar River. Mahadevan's body was retrieved from the river and was sent to the Government Royapettah Hospital for autopsy.
  Mahadevan is survived by his wife Nithyasree, and daughters Tanujasree and Tejasree Janani. Nithyasree's popular film songs include Kannodu Kanbadellam in Jeans, Minsara Kanna in Padayappa and Sowkiyama Kannae in Sangamam among others.
