Vijay's dad wants him to be a leader
JB  [ Tue, Oct 24, 2017 ]
Vijay's Mersal is at the center of the spotlight right now with so many fresh controversies every day. At this juncture, Vijay's dad S A Chandrasekar had met the press recently where he had spelled out many of his thoughts and ideas.

He said, "Of late, politicians have started becoming wary of cinema and actors. More so, they are afraid of actors who enjoy a huge fanbase. Tamil Nadu people know who is Vijay for the past 25 years. Vijay lives here as an ordinary Tamil man. There is no need throw a spotlight on his religion now. When I enrolled him in school, I had only filled 'Indian' in the caste column.

Once a film has been certified by the Censor board, nobody has the right to seek a ban on it. Politicians should first understand this. More than joining politics, Vijay is keen to eradicate the societal problems. He is very socially conscious and Mersal is an outcome of his anger on the society. I am not advocating him to join politics but I want him to be a leader to millions of young men who follow him".
