If 2012 brought about many changes in Hindi cinema and also in the choices of the audiences with some of the most unexpected films working well with the masses, 2013 only promises to take the change forward. The year has quite an interesting amalgam of films lined up right from the commercial films to the unconventional ones. Here’s a low-down on what’s in stores for all you movie buffs this year:

While Saif Ali Khan and Anil Kapoor reprise their roles in Race 2, the film brings about an addition of actors like John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel. Slated for a January 25th release, Race 2 promises to be an edgy and action packed ride.

Special Chabbis:

Akshay Kumar kickstars his year with a heist drama Special Chabbis. Directed by Neeraj Pandey who last gave us the award winning film A Wednesday takes to comedy this time around and gives a real life incident a comic twist. The film is apparently based on the real-life heist dated 19-Mar-1987 where an unknown man posing as CBI officer Mon Singh recruited 26 men and executed a daylight raid on the Opera House branch of Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri in Mumbai, and disappeared with jewellery worth lakhs. The film also stars Anupam Kher, Jimmy Shergill and Manoj Bajpayee. The actress sharing screen space with Akshay in the film is Kajal Aggarwal.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani:

The biggest casting coup in the recent times of Hindi cinema is that of bringing together ex-couple Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone for a film and only Karaj Johar could accomplish that. The filmmaker has roped in the ex-flames for a romantic film to be directed by Ayan Mukherji of the Wake Up Sid fame. The film surely has all eyes on it even before the first look is out.

Chennai Express:

The first look of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Chennai Express has already created quite a buzz amongst his fans. Arguably the most successful filmmaker Rohit Shetty takes up the task of bringing back the Om Shanti Om pair of SRK and Deepika Padukone in his ambitious project that follows Khan’s character on a 35-hour train journey from Mumbai to Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu. True to Rohit Shetty’s sensibilities, the film is supposedly a complete masala entertainer. Click the Movie button below for more info:
