Dane DeHaan in 'Amazing Spider Man' sequel

Los Angeles, Dec 4 (IANS) Actor Dane DeHaan has been roped in to star in the second instalment of "The Amazing Spider Man" triology.

Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures, and Hannah Minghella, president of production for the studio, announced that DeHaan will join the film's original cast of Andrew Garfield, Jamie Foxx and Shailene Woodley, said a statement.

DeHaan will play the role of Harry Osborn in the sequel to "The Amazing Spider Man" movie.

The casting of DeHaan was also confirmed in a tweet by Webb, who posted: "Meet Harry Osborn. So excited to have him on board. @danedehaan."

"Dane is an exciting and extraordinary young actor and he is a fantastic addition to our cast," added Webb.

The new film is slated to release in 3D May 2, 2014. Its production will begin in early 2013 in New York.
