Once it was a big deal for a movie star to do TV.

Not anymore.

Big B changed the norm forever.

Today, Bollywood’s finest stars are happily switching domains and jumping at the small screen.

From playing anchors and hosts to judges and of course actors…

Films stars are busy keeping the TV scene steaming like never before.

Here’s a look at movie stars who happily sizzling on small screen…

Anil Kapoor: We can congratulate evergreen Anil from bringing Hollywood to not just in Bollywood but also on your TV screens with his latest and much talked about American series 24’s Indian version.

The show became the talk of the town ever since it was launched and is on the must-watched list of not just TV buff’s but also film stars’.

Besides Anil, other prominent faces that you can spot in 24 are Shabana Azmi, Anupam Kher, Rahul Khanna, Anita Raj, Mandira Bedi and Tisca Chopra to name a few.

Amitabh Bachchan: Saying yes to TV was Amitabh Bachchan’s way of giving himself a second chance when he was going through a low phase.

But little did he knew that Kaun Banega Crorepati, will not only become a landmark show in his career but also for Indian TV industry.

In fact, he was the one to make TV a hot property among Bollywood stars.

Salman Khan: Salman Khan took over hosting the celebrity reality show Bigg Boss after Shilpa Shetty and Arshad Warsi.

And in no time this mega Khan catapulted the popularity of Bigg Boss to a different level.

Salman Khan is currently hosting the seventh season (fourth time for him) of the show, which was also hosted by Amitabh Bachchan in the third season.

By far Salman has been the most popular host of the show.

Shah Rukh Khan: Life came a full circle for Shah Rukh Khan when he came back to TV as the host for quiz show, Kya Aaap Panchvi Paas Se Tez Hain? Though SRK was a popular host but the format of the show didn’t click much with the audiences and the show was a flop.

Or shall we say, Kaun Banega Crorepati was too big a success for SRK to challenge.

He had hosted a season of KBC too but couldn’t carry on beyond that season.

Aamir Khan: Perfectionist of Bollwood took a long time to make his TV debut.

The wait was all the worth said all that his fans and TV buffs across the country when the first episode of Aamir’s social issues based chat show, Satyamev Jayate aired on air.

A teary eyed Aamir struck an instant chord with his audiences.

Priyanka Chopra: The leggy lass Priyanka Chopra was quite impressive when she hosted the second season of adventure based reality show, Khatron Ke Khiladi.

Dressed in everything that shouted tough and powerful, Priyanka never shied away from doing challenges herself before they were offered to the contestants.

Akshay Kumar: Though Priyanka was doing a good job but in third season Khiladi Akshay Kumar replaced her as the host of Khatron Ke Khiladi.

And all that we could say was there couldn’t have been a better replacement.

Known as an adventure loving actor, who prefers doing his stunts on his own, Akshay is indeed the Khatron Ka Khiladi!

Madhuri Dixit: From UK straight into your drawing rooms! That was Madhuri Dixit’s perfect plan of comeback which she executed with utmost elegance, glamour and of course entertainment by saying yes to judge the celebrity dance reality show, Jhalak Dikh La Jaa.

In the past Shilpa Shetty, Farah Khan, Urmila Matondkar, Jeetendra and Sanjay Leela Bhansali had judged the show.

Rani Mukherjee: Dancing diva Rani Mukherjee failed to be as lucky and loved as Madhuri Dixit when she debuted as the judge of another Dance based reality show, Dance Premiere League and the show went off air too soon.

Farah Khan: One of the favourite and most popular judges on TV, Farah has been a part of shows like Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, Indian Idol and India’s Got Talent.

She’s known for her witty remarks and unbiased judgment.

Karan Johar: While his own chat show, Koffee With Karan is one of the most popular shows on TV both for its ace celeb line-up and the controversies churned on the couch as well, but Karan has also been a part of shows including Jhalak Dikhlajaa and Indian’s Got Talent.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali: Last time we saw him on TV was as a judge of dance based reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa.

Though he seemed to be an awkward choice in the first go but when we heard his comments, the director sounded experienced – after all he has made so many Bollywood divas dance in his movies.

That’s not where SLB’s fascination for small screen ends.

The director has also gone ahead and chose the medium for to release his TV show Saraswatichandra.

Preity Zinta: Following Karan Johar’s chatty instincts another chatterbox of Bollywood Preity Zinta came up with her own version of a celebrity chat show Preity Zinta. But now she’s back to acting.

However, the way her last movie ‘Ishkq in Paris’ tanked at Box-office coming back to TV looks like a natural progression for Preity.
