Mar 1, 2017 Shweta Kulkarni

Two superstars of Bollywood posed for a historic picture together for the first time, two actors uninhibitedly spoke against Karan Johar, two major comebacks, nasty remarks… Bollywood denizens made a lot of noise in the month of February, which simply couldn’t be ignored.

Check out the top 10 newsmakers, who dominated the headlines last month…

Rani Mukerji

When one of the finest actresses of Bollywood decide to make a comeback after 3 long years, she is obviously going to grab all the eyeballs.

Rani Mukerji’s announcement to return to the big screen with Yash Raj Film’s Hichki was literally celebrated by the media, who has been speculating the actress’ comeback for a while.

After her pregnancy, Rani once again dominated the news scene this February.

Pahlaj Nihalani

Censor board chief — Pahlaj Nihalani knows how to religiously make it to the news, but for all the wrong reasons. This time around the reason why the CBFC chief is in the news is for his denial to give certification to Konkona Sensharma and Ratna Pathak Shah’s film — Lipstick Under My Burka.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) stated in a letter, “The story is lady oriented, their fantasy above life. There are continuous sexual scenes, abusive words, audio pornography and a bit sensitive touch about one particular section of society, hence film refused under guidelines (sic).”

Randeep Hooda

The Sarbjit actor made it to the headlines when he joined his dear friend Virender Sehwag in making fun of Gurmehar Kaur — daughter of an Indian Army martyr on social media recently.

When Gurmehar posted on her social media with a placard stating, “Pakistan did not kill my father. War did,” Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, in response to it, shared a picture of himself posing in the similar manner as Kaur, with a placard reading “I didn’t score two triple centuries, my bat did.”

This was acknowledged by an applaud by Randeep Hooda. Though Randeep later posted an open letter to clarify his stance, he was definitely not spared by the media nor by some of his industry colleagues.

Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut was on a promotional spree for her film Rangoon and made it to the headlines for her bold remarks almost every day, during the whole of February.

Right from commenting on how it was horrible to kiss Shahid Kapoor, to accusing Karan Johar of promoting nepotism on his show Koffee With Karan, the badass chic rightly owned all the headlines.

Shahid Kapoor

While his Rangoon co-star made it to the headlines by taking sly digs at him, Shahid Kapoor, too, made it to the headlines for allegedly stating that he would never work with Kangana Ranaut again.

A source close to the actor mentioned to a local newspaper, “They had a constant difference of opinion during the shoot. Things had reached a point where they were barely talking to each other. In fact, Shahid will never work with Kangana again.”

Aamir Khan

While his last film Dangal is still very much the talk of the town, Aamir Khan, who will be next seen in Thugs of Hindostan, grabbed all the headlines with his new TVC for Star Plus’ Nayi Soch campaign.

Aamir Khan broke all genders stereotypes through the TVC’s simple yet powerful narrative.

We don’t need to tell you how much we love him, right?

Neil Nitin Mukesh

With a dreamy destination wedding at Udaipur followed by a flashy reception in Mumbai, which was attended by the who’s who of Bollywood industry, Neil Nitin Mukesh’s marriage to Rukmini Sahay, ensured him his share of media space in the month of February.

Govinda

Chi Chi is back in action with Aa Gaya Hero and is claiming his space in the news not only because of his comeback but also for lashing out on filmmaker Karan Johar.

Govinda dubbed him as dangerous and jealous in one of his interviews and didn’t even mince any words talking about how David Dhawan didn’t even offer him a cameo. He even hinted that he didn’t get offers because of his tiff with Salman Khan.

That’s not all, Govinda even took a jibe at Varun Dhawan saying Varun cannot be like him. His undiplomatic approach certainly made him a true newsmaker of February.

Sara Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan’s pretty daughter, too, had her share of media attention last month after it was officially announced that she will be launched by Karan Johar in Student Of The Year 2.

Welcome to Bollywood girl.

Shah Rukh Khan

It doesn’t take much for the Baadshah of Bollywood to proclaim his space in the news. And this time around all it took was a simple selfie with one of his biggest competition — Aamir Khan to dominate the headlines.

Their first picture together in 25 years literally broke the internet and gave the media a field day.
