A passable chick flick.

Kadhalil Sodhapavadhu Yeppadi, a romantic comedy led by acting talents, Sidharth and Amala Paul seeks to make its mark as a chick flick.

Since it wades though the subject of relationships with love being its central theme, there's not much to say about it. There are no staggering depths provided to the characters. Then again, the film doesn't promise to dissect their relationship either.

The characters stick to being products of their respective environments. For the most part, it is just about satisfying. Eventually, though, it falls prey to genre trappings and Kollywood clichés. It is a passable affair, significantly owing to the breezy humour, but one that's just as forgettable. Like Woody Allen's Annie Hall, the narrative switches between first person and third person and provides us with both sides of the love story.

Kadhalil Sodhapavadhu Yeppadi's biggest problem is trying to wrap it up, all nice and perfect.
