Although 'Nuvva Nena' is a laugh riot from the word go. However, the film still fails to make any sense. Watch this movie only if you want to laugh out loud.

Some say it's safe for a debutant director to make a wholesome entertaining film that can bring an entire family to the theatre. Unfortunately, those days are long gone and off late people just don't watch any senseless comedy film. Viewers are expecting more than what they used to in the past; they're saying no to slapstick and yes to sensible comedy. In essence, debutant director Narayana's mantra seems to have not quite worked in his favor.

Story revolves around Avinash, Anand and Nandini. Avinash is a small thief in Amalapuram; he steals wallets from men and chains off women. He shifts base to Hyderabad with hands full of booty and upon seeing Nandini there, falls in love at first sight. On the other hand, Anand, a patient with serious psychological problems is brought to Dr. Nandini by his father, and upon seeing her, Anand falls for her as well. What follows is a typical cat and mouse game - chasing Nandini and pulling each other down. Who eventually gets Nandini is what told through rest of the story.

The premise of the film is old and clichéd; we've seen it a million times and we see it once again here in most tiresome fashion. Besides new cast, the film struggles to unearth anything new from within, not even sense.

Clearly the director attempted to weave few funny episodes together, hoping to making an impact but to no avail. In the process of making the film funny, the director only makes it appear slapstick and uninspiring. All comedy films need not always emerge successful; even they fail sometimes, miserably.

Performances were satisfying; Naresh as usual was funny but it was surprising Sharwanand in a comical role, which is something he's never done in the past. He also danced like never before which again is a bit of a surprise. Brahmanandam and Ali managed to tickle with humor while Kovai Sarla was loud in her role. Shriya didn't have any scope for acting; all she was expected to do was woo everybody with her assets.

Direction as mentioned earlier was below average thus makes the whole viewing experience unbearable. Music and other departments just contributed to the film, not full-heartedly.
