10ml Love Hindi Movie
When all goes wrong, one only goes back to the basics. In the times of loud and raucous action comedies, just like its clash with Khiladi 786 this week, 10 ML Love takes to a secured horizon by projecting a modern day adaptation of Shakespeare's celebrated comedy of errors A Midsummer Night's Dream. Whether it works for the senses or not, let's find out.
A rick brat Shweta (Tara Sharma) is to marry Neel (Purab Kohli) but she actually loves a poor mechanic Peter Pareira (Neil Bhoopalam). Neel on the other hand is in a relation with childhood friend Mini (Keol Puri). Mini loves Neel and wants to marry him but he is getting engaged to Shweta.
On the other hand, Ghalib (Rajat Kapoor) is a small time merchant selling aphrodisiacs in the narrow streets of Mohammad Ali Road. However, much to the irony, his own marital life is down in the pits because of his habit of constantly doubting his wife Roshni (Tisca Chopra). Ghalib's mother comes to his rescue with a love potion that will cast a magic spell on those who drink it and make them fall in love with the first person they see.
How the six protagonists get entangled in a hilarious mess when the love potion works unexpectedly is what follows through the rest of the plot.
Filmmaker Sharat Katariya takes a simple comedy of errors and adapts it with all the new age complexities of lives. Although 10ML Love cannot be claimed to be an out an out comedy but this contemporary version of the Shakesperian play is packed with good dosage of light-hearted humour enough to leave you with a smile on your face. Even the length of the film is kept in check to not lead to any amount of boredom.
What works best for the film is the right casting. Katariya opts for good actors than popular actors for his ensemble. And as a result, the characters get essayed out perfectly in the film. Rajjat Kapoor who best fits the bill of an urbane character does a swell job as the Ghalib. Tisca Chopra once again proves that she is the most underrated actress in the industry. She essays her part effortlessly. The rest of the cast including the likes of Purab Kohli, Koel Puri and Tara Sharma are decent in their portions too.
To sum it up, 10ML Love is a good attempt at adapting Shakespeare play. It holds the potential to entice even the cine-goers who haven't read/seen the play.
