Amrutham Chandamamalo is an extension from the popular sitcom, Amrutham with the same characters. Amrutham (Avasarala Srinivas) and Anji (Harish) gets a lump some amount overnight due to real estate boom. They start hotels business across the country and become highly successful. Their house owner Appaji tries to get their pie but fails. He later join hands with a Rocket Transport Corporation (RTC) and sell a Chandrayaan idea to Amrutham and Anji and bring them to roads. What happens next forms the remaining story.

Avasarala Srinivas and Harish got in to the shoes of Harshavardhan and Gundu Hanumantha Rao for the iconic Amrutham and Anji roles. They have done exceptionally well for the audience not to miss the original people from the sitcom. Sivannarayana and Vasu Inturi who played the same roles in both the serial and movie excelled as usual. Rest of the characters have done justice to their roles.

am Gangaraju, the producer of Amrutham serial have directed the film. He put in his best efforts for the film ad director and producer but it is very difficult to mould a 45 minutes serial episode to a two and half hour film.

Sri's back ground score is outstanding. Rasool Ellore's camera work is exemplary. VFX work is quite commendable. While Dharmendra Kakarla's editing is a let down.

Finally, Amrutham Chandamamalo is that kind of film which should be enjoyable in the form of a sitcom but it tests your patience with a film of long duration. Unless you are an Amrutham lover and strongly wants to give it a try, you can wait for the DVD.
