If not for Sapthagiri's comedy track, Lovers should have had nothing for you to consider it for killing the long weekend.

Siddhu(Sumanth Ashwin) is a flirt and Chitra(Nandini) is an even big hater of love. In his teens, Siddhu tries to woo Geeta (Tejaswi) and Soumya (Shamili) but the attempts get foiled by Chitra. For that reason, Siddhu hates Chitra to the core. Years later both of them again meets as Siddhu tries to link his friend Suresh(Sai) and Chitra's Friend, Soumya(Chandini). Siddhu falls for Chitra and what is in store for them is the rest.

Coming to performances, Sumanth Ashwin did not seem like the main lead of the film. His performance and dances even regressed from his last outing, Anthaku Mundhu Aa Tharuvatha. Nanditha once again impressed with a performance oriented role. The major highlight of the film is the excellent comedy track of Sapthagiri. MS Narayana and Sai did justice in other notable roles. Ahuti Prasad is totally wasted. Rest of the characters are not worth mentioning.

The story of Lovers is nothing novice. We have seen zillion films which goes like Boy and girl meets, they fight and they later unite. Director Harinath made sure that the narration is well paced and the story is embedded with ample amounts of comedy. The negative is the weak script which leaves several unattended points which makes the story fall flat as it progress adding to that the climax is even pale.

JB is continuously churning out okay albums. Lovers is one more such album. Songs are shot well and placed perfectly. Rerecording is good. Joshi's camera work is colourful while Uddhav should have chopped off good 20 minutes from the movie to make it more interesting. Dialogues are not so great and Production Values are adequate.

Finally, if not for Sapthagiri's comedy track, Lovers should have had nothing for you to consider it for killing the long weekend. But you can definitely try it once for Sapthagiri
