New Tamil Movie
S.J.Suryah has so far 2 blockbusters in his credit.'Vaali' and 'Khushi'. He comes back with his latest venture 'New'. This time he goes one step further as he feature himself as the hero. Though "New" had a unique theme and new storyline, Suryah mixed it with vulger scenes and double meaning one-liners.
"New" is inspired from the hollywood movie 'Big' where a kid become an adult with the help of medication. Surya who is often scolded by his mother, decides to walk away from home and his friend-cum-research scientist(Manivannan) makes him a 28-year-old "Vichu" by injecting him with a medicine.
Initially, Surya enjoys his newfound youthfulness and falls in love with Priya(Simran).He even takes up the job of designing toys and wins accolades for his ideas as his boss doesn't realise that he is actually a kid. He marries Priya and learns to cope with the unfamiliar world of grown ups.
When he comes to know that his mother is longing for his return, he again becomes a kid - but a mistake in the process by Manivannan make him a kid in the morning and a 20-plus in the night. He is Pappu, the boy during daytime and Vichu by nights! He is fagged out being Pappu to his loving mother, attending schools and doing home works, and being sexually harassed by his wife during nights! Added to this his neighbour Sivakami ‘maami’ (Kiran) also lusts after him! "New" is all about how Surya manages his dual life.
Suryah and Simran are convincing in their respective roles, Kiran's role has been unwantedly added for some unknown reasons. Songs by A.R Rahman are chartbusters and all the songs have been picturised well.
