Geethanjali backed up with good content and execution ends up as a good watch over the weekend. Although the Horror Comedy is dominated more by comedy than horror, that does not take away anything from it in making it a good entertainer.

Srinivas(Srinivas Reddy)is an aspirant film maker who comes to Hyderabad in search of a perspective producer for his maiden project. He along with this friend Madhu(Madhu) gets duped by house broker Adde Babu Rao (Prithvi) who rents them a haunted house. Anjali(Anjali) comes to Srinivas at nights and tries to befriend him. And there is Ramesh Rao (Rao Ramesh) who shows interest to produce Srinivas' film. What are troubles faced by Srinivas in the haunted house? How Anjali and Ramesh Rao influence their lives forms the rest.

Anjali's character is a mix of glamour and performance. She emoted well in the scenes that oozes comedy as well as horror. Srinivas Reddy leads the pack of entertainers and he is too good in the role. Jabardast Shankar and Satyam Rajesh almost carried out the first half on their shoulders. Brahmanandham is too good as Saithan Raj. Rao Ramesh gets a role with substance after a long time and he pulled it off very well. Sapthagiri,Madhu, Prithvi, Thagubothu Ramesh, Harshavardhan Rane and others played their parts to appreciable levels.

A ti

ght packed script with good dialogues is a must have for a Horror Comedy to succeed and Kona Venkat seem to have delivered a home run in this department. Once a perfect script is in place, it is almost a cakewalk for the debutant director, Raaj Kiran. However we can not undermine his role in drawing good performances from his cast and neatly executing the script.

Music by Praveen Lakkaraju was decent enough and the songs were well picturised too. The sound design of the film is excellent. Cinematography by Sai Sriram and editing by Upendra were superb.

Finally, Geethanjali backed up with good content and execution ends up as a good watch over the weekend. Although the Horror Comedy is dominated more by comedy than horror, that does not take away anything from it in making it a good entertainer.
