Ram Gopal Varma once again throws a shit kind of film on the face of audience. It is clear that there is not application from the director nor the intent to deliver good output to his fans. A Psycho killers starts brutal killings of women in Hyderabad city. As the gore increases without the criminal getting nabbed, the Police department deploy DCP Gautam (Manchu Vishnu) to solve the case. Despite his best efforts, Gautam does not seem to arrive at proper clue to catch the criminal then he takes the help of a research expert Shailaja (Revathi) to help him solve the case. How both of them manage to crack the case is the rest.

The styling for the Serial Killer got off very well. Surya who played the role did well too. Manchu Vishnu has come up with a composed performance. He displayed the right mix of aggression and quirkiness required for the role of a Police officer. Revathi makes a good comeback but her character should have been more demanding for her. Shravan and Supreet are okay as Vishnu's colleagues. Tejaswi and Madhu Shalini seem to have over-reacting in their little roles. Kota and Brahmi are good as always.

Ram Gopal Varma seem to have strongly influenced from the several Psycho thriller films in Hollywood and made a kichidi of them in Anukshanam. Though the intent behind the film is good, the movie looked more like a documentary on the various findings of Ram Gopal Varma on Psycho serial killers. There is no much logic and most of the film goes flat with too much melodrama, forced comedy and unwanted dialogues. By half way down the 100 minutes film, you find the scenes overloading on you one by one with out any reason or clarity.

Background score of the film is brilliant and it helps the film to take it to another level. Camerawork is top notch and showcases the film in a superb light. Editing is decent and should have been better in the second half.
