A happily married couple. Their trials to run a household, is a struggle. But when love, understanding and respect persist between the couple no gap can grow to make things worse between them. Rony (Vikram) and Mrittika (Ena) are a couple in love and are young and happily married. Their middle class life suddenly gets a big blow when Rony fails to deliver to the needs of the family and Mrittika decides to work as an escort.

The simple story of a gradually dispersing marriage owing to circumstantial pressures makes the story of Britto a rather simple narrative sans any specific edge. But the simple story with an emotional backbone makes for an interesting film. The realistic edge given to the film is definitely interesting and comes out very truly through the couple and their love and later the failed marriage.

Mrittika tastes success and pulls out the couple from poverty with her alternate profession, as an escort. But this profession is just a way to earn money while Ena's true passion lies in her singing. Soon she finds solace in her songs and want to walk past her professional and personal life. Actors Vikram and Ena are natural in their respective roles and keeps the audience hooked with their on screen chemistry. Their honest portrayal of a middle class couple stuck within the struggle for survival is believable apart from a few glitches. The frustrations, pressures and the sudden facelift with a raised income are brought out quite significantly in the film.

The middle class struggles. Ways to acquire more money for a better lifestyle amidst a simple story of a couple is what Britto has to offer. With not many significant releases this week Britto can be a nice watch to set the mood right.
