If you liked the original GangaJal, then maybe you should stay at home and watch the DVD. The story is the same as the original but diluted.

After you sit through almost two and half hours of a movie you have seen before, you want the action to be superior than the first. You want to story to come to the point faster because it's nothing new. You want to understand why the police officers (they are commissioned officers, and they belong to Bihar, where most people speak shuddh Hindi) speak as though they never went to school.

You do get Priyanka Chopra though. She takes that baton and swings it real well. She manages to look angry, look firm and capable through the layer of makeup she wears. She even attempts a Shatrughan Sinha 'Khamosh!' It's not her fault that the filmmaker doesn't care.

He's busy playing all the roles previously played by many actors. He is shifty cop, bad cop, a good uncle, a cop whose conscience awakes, a wheeling dealing cop, a cop who can beat up baddies, a cop who can keep secrets, a cop who gets beaten by baddies, a hero cop recovering in the hospital, a hero who saves the day, a sacrifice-my-life-for-my-principles cop, a cop who spouts lines like, 'Is vardi ko haath mat lagana!'...

He takes almost two and a half hours of film footage even though Priyanka Chopra is propped up as the hero of the film. And no matter what the scene is, no matter how cool Priyanka Chopra is trying to be, the multi tasking director-savior steps into the scene. It's such a self-indulgent, self promotional film for Prakash Jha, it's a tragic waste of the supposed INR 100 crore budget.

After a while, you start checking out if the baddies change clothes through the movie. They don't. And you don't care.
