Pati Parameshwar Bengali Movie

Feature Film | 2014
Critics:
Interesting storyline, great actors wrapped in a capsule of humor should have made pati parameshwar a must watch. But alas the fool waits at the edge of the cliff, with his loyal little pet barking at him a word of caution.

Pets and their tantrums. Pets and their masters. Pets becoming the family's best friend. Pet dying to save the family. Pet dies as soon as the family moves to a haunted house. We have sadly had it all. And the list will keep going on, without even trying harder.

But much has not been done within the Bengali cinema framework. There have been very few instances when loyal pets have been portrayed in films. Jayasree Bhattacharya's debut film Pati Parameshwar explores this unexplored paradigm with an interesting story.

Interesting storyline, great actors wrapped in a capsule of humor should have made pati parameshwar a must watch. But alas the fool waits at the edge of the cliff, with his loyal little pet barking at him a word of caution. However the word of caution reaches a little late and the film is already released.

The film could have been so much better provided the film would have been handled with some care and expertise. Pati Parameshwar is the story of Sharmila (Rituparna Sengupta) and her missing pet dog Pluto. Sharmila is very attached and fond of her dog, and when it goes missing, all hell breaks lose and she desperately seeks a way out to search him.

Her genuine efforts and her undying affection for Pluto pushes her to take extreme steps just to rescue him. Through hilarious twists and turns she keeps on the search. Amidst all this, her husband Arindam (Rajatava Dutta), a police officer is the one who suffers.

Presence of powerful actors, Rajatava Dutta and Rahul Arunodoy Banerjee has not saved the day for our debutante director. Rituparna Sengupta fails to create an impression with her acting.

To summarise, pati parameshwar is an easygoing film and will relax you but will fail to make the humor seep within. Watch if you really care for the actors and the first time director.
