An incoherent writing and mediocre treatment holds back the flight of this promising plot.

It's not the feeble subject that takes the sheen away from "Sarvopari Palakkaran", but the slipshod handling of a relevant theme. Relying on a disorganized screenplay, this film sways both ways: to establish the traits of Pala native police officer Jose Kaithaparambil and the issue of human trafficking.

Anoop Menon's character Jose holds an orthodox and chauvinistic concept about women. It becomes an onerous task for his father Mani Chacko (Alancier) to find a girl for him. However, the incidents that lead to Jose's alliance with Linta (Anu Sithara) appears to be crude and ridiculous.

Scenarist S. Suresh Babu's unimaginative unfolding events is flawed, and lackluster treatment of director Venu Gopan bungles the proceedings. His old school narrative skills contribute a mediocre effect to the flick that results in offering glimpses of positives occasionally. At the end of the movie, we wish the promising plot had a better presentation.

The initial soap opera feel shifts to a thriller mood when Joy starts his mission to nab a criminal, Mani Swamy (Nandu). This shift is riveting, but it loses the rhythm thanks to the absence of a tout screenplay. Vinod Sukumaran's editing also deserves the share of blame.

As the film survives on issues like moral policing and kiss of love incidents, the director has no option but to harp on the usual protests and introduction of an inevitable bold social activist, Anupama (Aparna Balamurali), who has done a neat performance.

There is a scant handful of moments during which the film looks to become interesting. In fact, an incoherent writing and mediocre treatment holds back the flight of this promising plot.
