Ism Telugu Movie
Sultan (Kalyan Ram) is a street fighter in Europe who falls in love with Alia (Aditi Arya). Later she turns out to be the only daughter of a dreaded don Javed Bhai(Jagapathi Babu) who helps the politicians to stash their ill-gotten money in a self-run bank called Bank of Paradise. Sultan woos her hard and at last, Alia and Javed Bhai approve of his love story, he cheats them big time and leaves back to India. And that runs the story to Sultan's actual face being a journalist cum secret hacker. What happens next in his love and mission forms the rest of the story.
This movie is a comeback of sort for Kalyan Ram. His hardwork for a complete physical transformation is clearly visible on screen. The Brand New Kalyan Ram is the major highlight of the film. Puri should be given the credit for this. Kalyan Ram also came up with a brilliant performance. His performance in the court scene may be his career best. Aditi Arya looks beautiful but has to go a long way to become a heroine material. Jagapathi Babu looks good as a Stylish villain but is wasted in a badly etched role. Ali brings some laughs.
Puri Jagannadh is only partly a success in Ism. He chose a good subject but then writing is bad. We get to see that the actual intent is good and honest but it was ruined by an unimaginative screenplay, a story that moves with false starts and abrupt scenes, weak Characterisations with no depth. Songs composed by Anup Rubens are not that impressive but the back ground score is okay. We only get to see the strength of Puri Jagannadh in the Pre-Climax sequence.
Songs composed by Anup Rubens are not that impressive and background score is okay. Editing could have been better. Camera work is top notch especially the lighting gives a novel. Production values are good.
Ism is a great idea which was let down by Puri Jagannadh himself without a proper execution. Try Ism if you have the patience to watch the interesting Pre-Climax Sequence which is the best part of the film.
