Memu Telugu Movie

Feature Film | 2016 | Dubbing
Critics:
Considering that Pandiraj the first installment of Memu (Pasanga in Tamil) is a classic, Memu is not that appealing. But the problem is that the film is not that well intentioned as its message. At best, it ends up as an okayish one time watch.

Naina (Vaishnavi) and Naveen (Nishesh), who are seven years old, will prove to be troublesome for their respective parents due to their hyper-activeness. Naina has this habit of questioning everything she comes across while Naveen is too mischievous for his parents and teachers to control. As a result, both of them are thrown out of their schools every year. Finally they are admitted in a hostel, which results in yet another dramatic turn in their lives.

We find Taare Zameen Par shades all over the film right from the word Go. Suriya, who plays the role of a child psychiatrist, along with Amala Paul, who plays Suriya's wife in plays the roles similar to that Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir Khan) from Taare Zameen Par. However, Pandiraj tries to leave his own mark on the film when he gets to the point - how Naina and Naveen come to terms with their true potential.

But the major problem with the film is that it barely has a moment which makes you to connect to the emotional distress of the parents. We do not empathise with these characters even though the story has a strong resemblance with our own real-life experiences. Memu covers all these instances that all of us can relate to our childhood and school days but still do not stir the emotions in us. With Taare Zameen Par effect, we all know what is going to happen and how it is going to end. Suriya and Amala Paul have done their parts very well despite all that. The remaining casting in the film and performance of each of the actors is pretty good, the screenplay is a big let down. Amol Corelli's music is okay, the first song will impress the children very much. The Back ground score is also good as well. Camera work reflects the mood of the film while Editing is disappointing second half. Production Values are appropriate.

Considering that Pandiraj the first installment of Memu (Pasanga in Tamil) is a classic, Memu is not that appealing. But the problem is that the film is not that well intentioned as its message. At best, it ends up as an okayish one time watch.
