Srirasthu Subhamasthu Telugu Movie

Feature Film | 2016 | UA | Comedy, Romantic
Critics:
Srirastu Subhamasthu is another rehash of that popular romance cum family entertainer genre. A little more effort from the hero and better content would have done the trick. You can try it if you are looking for some moments of laughter and nothing more.

Siri (Allu Sirish) is the younger son of a rich father (Prakash Raj) who obviously hates the poor and middle class. His elder son marries a middle-class girl and so he wants to marry Siri according to his wish. But again to his disappointment, Siri falls for Anu (Lavanya Tripathi), a middle-class family. Rest of the movie is all about how Siri manages to convince his father and also how he gets into Anu's family solving an issue there.

Sirish seems to have not changed much from his previous outings. He is still the weak link with poor acting skills. He particularly struggled in the emotional scene towards the end of the film which is the heart of the film. Lavanya Tripathi has to put up some weight immediately. She is okay in a routine role. Prakash Raj as a rich father and Rao Ramesh as a middle-class family bread earner are good as always. Tanikella Bharani is okay. Prabhas Sreenu and Ali-Subbaraju comedy track are big assets. Hamsa Nandini sizzled in a little cameo and is fine.

Srirastu Subhamasthu is more of an old wine in a new bottle. We have seen numerous films coming under the same romance cum family genre right from Bommarillu. Parasuram excelled with his writing but the routine story came as a dampener. Moreover, a better hero would have elevated the emotional block of the film which would help to increase the film's range. The first half is average with only saving grace in the form of Prabhas Sreenu. The second half is better. Thaman's music is good and compliments the film. The background score is also very impressive. Camera work by Manikandan is superb with excellent grading. The Production Values of Geetha Arts are excellent.

Finally, Srirastu Subhamasthu is another rehash of that popular romance cum family entertainer genre. A little more effort from the hero and better content would have done the trick. You can try it if you are looking for some moments of laughter and nothing more.
