Despicable Me 3 English Movie

There is a literal yin-yang moment in Despicable Me 3 between Gru(Steve Carell) and his long-lost twin brother Dru(also Steve Carell) as they curl into a ball of black and white during a high-octane mission. That single frame best elucidates the gist of this sequel. It is about brothers- mirror images of each other- working on their newfound connection and contradiction.

Despicable Me 3 is the first time we see the Minions franchise leaving a film incomplete in sights of bigger stories for the future. The first two parts had definite closure to their adventures. But, the advent of the new character, Dru, turns part three into a competent tentpole movie. It features a fun antagonist in Balthazar Bratt(Trey Parker). A washed-out former child actor of the '80s, Bratt has an obsession for the limelight which triggers his dance-based villainy. It also arguably contains the best usage of the series' X-factor- the Minions. This time, we see them in the unlikeliest of places, including a stage show and a prison.

while, Lucy(Kristen Wiig) and the kids have a sweet sub-plot between themselves as she slowly copes with the dynamics of being a mother. The only real complaint is that the writers have still not been able to fully explore the character of Edith(Dana Gaeir), the middle child of Gru and Lucy, as the other two receive unfair favouritism, consciously or not. The audience may have also wanted more of Bratt's involvement in the story since he makes for the most entertaining villain in the series.

Directors Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda make a strong comeback here after the middling Despicable Me 2. The animation is well within control and expresses more visual comedy than before, mostly because of the way they have used the identical twins. Steve Carell's voice acting is phenomenal as he deals with two different personalities in the same movie. Overall, Despicable Me 3 may not have the best animation or story to brag about, but it ensures plenty of fun for children and adults in equal measure.
