Pittagoda Telugu Movie

Feature Film | 2016 | U | Romantic, Teen Movie
Critics:
Pittagoda fell a little short of a very good entertainer. There are enough ingredients for us to connect to the happenings in the film but the a bit of harakiri towards the end of the film spoiled the great chance. But still it is a okay watch.

Set in a small town of Telangana, Godavarikani, Pittagoda is the story of four friends who are good for nothing in life. Tippu (Vishwa) is the gang leader and he makes friends to Divya (Punarnavi Bhoopalam). But then unexpected situations lead to differences between the friends and from then it is all about how Tippu wins Vishwa and how the differences between friends are mended.

Punarnavi is Pretty and gets her act perfect as the lead lady of the film. Vishwa makes a decent debut and the chemistry between them worked well in the movie. Jabardasth Ramu and his friends do their roles superbly. The casting gives a fresh feel but then makes it difficult for the audience to connect with them.

The major things that work in Pittagoda is the realistic emotions of the middle-class people. The fun generated between the friends, their fathers scolding them daily and the silly things they do in life are so natural and executed beautifully. That keeps the first half entertaining. The director made sure that there is no much melodrama and unnecessary scenes till the last 15 minutes but once they set in, the good work is gone and the flow of the movie is disturbed. Even though the movie has a very short run time, it gives us a feel that he hurried to complete the film.

Having said that Anudeep has a mixed result with his directional debut. Pranam Kamalakar's music is neat and the Background score is good. The cinematography by Uddhaii is colorful and the editing is crispy. Production Values are very good for a small film.

Finally, Pittagoda fell a little short of a very good entertainer. There are enough ingredients for us to connect to the happenings in the film but the a bit of harakiri towards the end of the film spoiled the great chance. But still it is a okay watch.
